That was then
This is now.
Older. Heavier. Grayer.
Changed a lot by things that have happened for better and for worse.
In the throes of something resembling an early midlife crisis, for lack of a better term as I debate my skills and abilities and chances to make some kind of income as a writer/editor.
I've changed careers once already—not by choice but more by happenstance, although I still remain in a field of public service.
I've spent 44 minutes on national television and lived to tell the tale. I have video proof after all.
I'm a husband in a strong relationship that has weathered some very tough times but has survived to this day.
I'm a parent who gets to try and teach every day.
I try to instill confidence in others every day at work, and yet I struggle with the same issues as some of my customers.
It's a process, and I am hoping, this year, to do what I can to overcome some of the confidence issues. Or at the very least, give it my best damn shot.
