Fiction Friday: Naked Came the Jayhawk, Chapter One
Michael Franklin rolled over in bed. He could hear the waves crashing against the shore. He reached over to the nightstand and pushed a button on his phone. The display showed the time as 5:30am.
Michael slid out of bed quietly so that he didn’t disturb the lithe blonde woman that was sleeping naked next to him. Side stepping casually strewn about clothes, he took his naked body to the bathroom. He tried to conduct his morning business as quietly as possible and then hopped into the shower, hoping that the warm water would help to relax his somewhat stiff muscles and sober him up a bit.
He got out of the shower, dried off and wrapped the towel around his waist. Michael strolled back into the bedroom and climbed back into bed next to his companion. She rolled over to face him.
“Good morning,” she said sleepily.
“Morning to you too.”
“I should probably head back. I’ll be missed,” she said.
“If you must, you must. I had a lot of fun last night, though.”
“Well,” she said, rubbing her hand down his chest towards the towel, “we probably have time for some more fun this morning before I leave.” She undid the towel and started caressing his crotch.
Michael leaned over and kissed the pretty blonde as his hands roamed all over her body. She proceeded to give him oral pleasure as he caressed her back. He returned the favor before she climbed on to ride him for one final time.
They were basking in the afterglow of early morning sex when they heard four sharp knocks at the door. Michael closed his eyes and shook his head. He knew that if he heard four more knocks, it was not going to be good news.
The blonde slid out of bed and started to gather up her clothes. “Were you expecting someone?”
Michael shook his head. “Nope.”
She slid her sundress back on and stepped into her shoes. She grabbed her purse off of the dresser. Michael stood up and walked her to the door. He was still naked. The blonde gave him a final kiss. “I’ll see you around,” she said lustily as she opened the door.
She found herself looking at a brunette in a black business suit, white shirt and sunglasses with her fist raised, ready to knock on the door one more time. The brunette whipped off her sunglasses and gestured towards the hallway of the hotel. “Coast is clear. All yours,” she said.
The blonde threw one final look at Michael before she walked away.
Michael stood in the doorway, looking at the blonde as she walked down the hallway. “Good morning Veronica,” he said to the brunette as his eyes continue to follow the blonde as she rummaged in her purse for a key card.
Veronica Gonzalez brushed past Michael and strode into his room. She looked around the mess of a room in disgust and started to rummage in the dresser drawers. “She looked a lot older than your typical vacation conquests,” she said.
Michael closed the door and turned to face her. “She’s in her mid-40s. From Milwaukee.”
Veronica found a pair of underwear and tossed them at Michael. “Wow. You went ten years older instead of ten years younger. Good for you.”
“Well, her husband was quite clear that I was to help her have fun on vacation. She said she had never slept with a black man before, so who was I to deny her the pleasure?”
Veronica frowned. “Disgusting,” she snarled. She headed over to the closet and took out a shirt and a pair of pants.
Michael sat on the bed and pulled on the underwear as he watched Veronica roam around the room, muttering to herself in Spanish.
“Sorry I offend your gentle sensibilities,” Michael said as he reached for the shirt Veronica had put on the bed.
“I would say go fuck yourself but apparently your dick has had quite the workout over the last several hours,” Veronica said as she started to get Michael’s suitcase out of the closet.
“If you’re going to pack for me, don’t forget to fold the shirts neatly,” Michael said.
Veronica looked down and saw that she had pulled the suitcase out and laid it on the bed. “Fuck!” she said throwing her hands up in the air. “Meet me in the lobby in 20 minutes.”
Veronica stormed out of the room slamming the door behind her. Michael picked up his phone and looked at the display. He saw the two missed calls from Veronica, and that the time was currently 7:17am. He shook his head.
Twenty minutes later exactly, Michael strode into the lobby. Veronica was sitting in one of the plush chairs in the lobby tapping away at her smartphone. She had put the sunglasses back on. When she saw Michael enter the lobby she put the phone away and stood up, all business as usual. She started marching towards the front door of the hotel where her car was waiting in the driveway.
“We’re driving,” Veronica said curtly as they approached her black sedan. She used the remote to pop the trunk so Michael could put his suitcase in there. He shut the lid and climbed in the passenger seat, careful to pick up the thick file that was already there.
“You drove all the way down here to get me?” Michael asked as he held on to the folder with one hand while gripping the door with the other. Veronica’s aggressive driving always took some getting used to.
“I couldn’t requisition a sea plane,” she said flatly as she headed onto US Highway 1 North. There was only one way in to and out of Key West, so Michael felt that the potential for a long, awkward drive was high. He looked back at the file in his hand as they merged on to the Oversea Highway.
“So what’s going on? Something major had to have happened for you to make the drive down here early this morning.”
“Last night.”
“What?”
“I came down last night,” Veronica said.
“So why didn’t you try and make contact last night? Why knock on my door at the crack of dawn?” Veronica gripped the wheel and didn’t say anything. Michael opened the folder. “Is this for me?”
“Williamson sent me to come get you. Trust me, this is not a pleasure trip.”
“Especially since I’m on vacation.”
“Well you’ve been called back unexpectedly. Just look in the file and you’ll see why.”
Michael opened up the folder. He scanned the first two printed pages and then looked at a photo. He leaned back and closed his eyes.
“He’s back.”
Veronica nodded. “Jayhawk has returned."
Veronica nodded. “Jayhawk has returned."
