Baring my thoughts and a bit of my soul....
It's November, and since I like having a full beard, I'm not doing Movember.
However, I am going to give something else a shot this month, and I would like a little bit of help with it.
It's National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), where writers (professional and amateur) take time to write a draft of a novel, with a target goal of 50,000 words. It works out to less than 2,000 words a day to reach that goal.
Well, I tried last year to do it, and in the malaise I was in, I just didn't have the heart to do it. That, and my constant nagging fear of flopping big time.
But this year, I'm going to do it. I think. I hope.
That, dear reader, is where you come in.
I need support.
What I am planning on doing is posting the story, in progress on this here blog. Every day (or so). The objective is to get some feedback stored up, and then use any of the feedback I get in the editing process, and hopefully come out with a book at the end of this whole shebang.
It's not that I expect to turn out a classic piece of literature; I don't plan on writing the Great American Novel.
What I do want to do is write a novel. Period. Anything for this I'll tag "NaNoWriMo" (but I may not always remember the capital letters).
I know, I know; I'm already a day behind. I'm not exactly off to a rocking start. But I plan on making up for it.
Any and all feedback is appreciated, and support and encouragement are welcome as well.
As Bartles and Jaymes used to say, "Thank you for your support."
