From the "You Have To Be Shitting Me Files."



For all of the people who are baseball fans and still bitch and moan about the Yankees, let me present the antithesis: This schmoe, this mook, this complete and utter lying piece of trash who "owns" the Miami (née Florida) Marlins, who has bilked his fellow owners out of money for years as owner in South Florida.

(Oh, let's not forget that he is the one who essentially started the ball rolling that killed baseball in Montreal, including when he couldn't reach some kind of accord to broadcast the games in English OR on television. And then he traded the Expos for the Marlins in a three team deal with Major League Baseball that involved the Red Sox.)

Who lied to free agents to get them to sign on with his sham of a ballclub.

Who lied to his fans by pretending to invest in the future of the club when he had absolutely no intention to, and held a fire sale midseason (!) during the first year in the brand new, publicly funded ballpark.

Who tried to go after the "Latino" market (whatever the hell that means) by hiring a blowhard of a manager and then blanching when said hotheaded blowhard said something incredibly stupid and ultimately made him the fall guy for the team's failures.

Who is now going about the process of completing his second fire sale with this franchise in the last decade.

He doesn't deserve to be an owner anymore. Bud Selig should give him the Frank McCourt treatment, take his club away, and try to find a buyer for it. Or fold the damn thing.

A line should be drawn in the sand.
