Let's skip politics for a minute. Because I'd rather not rehash the mental machinations that occurred over a decade ago at this point, and that's not the point of this piece.
What I want to focus on, instead, is the sentiment in this song.

On many levels, isn't that what most of us are looking for?
The best silence comes from being comfortable with the other person.
We all know awkward silence; we've all been part of such a situation—be it at a party; on a date; at work—we've all found ourselves in a circumstance at one time or another where there was a desperate need to fill the void because, well, it was truly painful to be in the presence of that person.
But when you can find that quiet that is calm and serene—be it with a friend or lover—then you know things are as they should be.
