2014 Christmas Countdown Song: Christmas, Don't Be Late by Alvin and the Chipmunks

I admit I felt no need to watch the live action movie versions of Alvin and the Chipmunks, but it might be because I have fond memories of the animated series from when I was growing up. However, it wasn't until I got older that I discovered the true history of the Chipmunks.

On some level, it was my first introduction to the concepts of utilizing studio recording technology for vocal manipulation. Maybe it's what sparked my interested in trying to go into radio.

Of course, the time and chances for me to get a job in radio have expired, but I can still enjoy the art of songcraft and studio production to a point.

And this one is for my kid, who loves this song and gets excited everytime it is played. The idea of being the Chipmunks for Halloween has been discussed. Naturally, he would be Alvin. His mother would be Simon because she wears glasses. And I would get to be Theodore because as he puts it, "He's the puffy one. I call him puffy because I don't want to say the 'f word' (fat)."
