Melancholic.

I used the term "depressing" to describe this song the other day in conversation.

I was swiftly and quickly reminded that this isn't depressing but rather melancholic.

Or maybe wistful is a term that can be used as well.

There is a definite sense of longing that I hear and feel when this song comes on.

Christmas is almost here.
